Lea Aschkenase
Founder
I founded Food4TI in honor of my 93 year old mother Thea, whose memory of hunger in Auschwitz concentration camp led her to a lifelong quest to help alleviate hunger. Food for Thought Initiative is my commitment to helping students gain adequate nutrition, so that they can focus on school, not hunger.

Jim Green
Program Co-Coordinator and Co-Coordinator of Thea’s Table
As a Co-Coordinator of Food for Thought Initiative, I am able to fulfill my personal mission of helping to provide food to those in need.

Program Co-Coordinator and Co-Coordinator of Thea’s Table
A child who cannot read proficiently by the end of 3rd grade is statistically more likely to drop out of high school and be unemployed, drug addicted, or imprisoned. Children cannot learn well when hungry and malnourished. Coordinating Thea’s Table has given me the opportunity to intervene in a child’s life when it may matter most. It is a privilege to help families when they are in the crisis of homelessness and to work with an amazing team of volunteers.

Program Co-Coordinator

I love working with Food For Thought Initiative, because I know that the students experiencing homelessness that I work with have a whole team of people thinking about them daily. Food4TI has become a staple of support around food insecurity for these families. The Food4TI team and volunteers make things happen and I know their caring hearts are some of the biggest around. Together we are making a difference!
